    <p>  To achieve higher performance in spark-ignition engines, the intake and exhaust valves must be controlled in a stepless manner according to the engine speed. Our research group has been continuously studying the electromagnetic drive valve system using a linear actuator. We designed a linear actuator with a dual Halbach array of permanent magnets in the stator to increase the thrust of the linear actuator. The thrust characteristics of the proposed model were investigated using electromagnetic field analysis based on the finite element method. The analysis confirmed that the Halbach array concentrates the magnetic flux on the coil side, which generates Lorentz force. From the analysis results, the proposed liner actuator can generate thrust for driving the engine valve, and optimal permanent magnets in stator can be obtained to generate higher thrust.</p>

    <p>  In conventional elevators, vibration and twisting of the cable become a serious problem when the cable is long. Therefore, an elevator that omits the counterweight and is moved by an actuator on a single cable with both ends fixed has been considered. However, contact decreases the efficiency and damages the cable owing to the inclusion of foreign matter. Therefore, a vertical transportation system is proposed that moves above a long, uniform conductor cable without contact by using a cylindrical linear induction motor (LIM) as the actuator. A cylindrical LIM above the reaction plate, which is a cylindrical shell-shaped conductor, has the advantage that the magnetic force acts on the reaction plate uniformly. This suppresses the vibration in the gap direction. However, a conventional LIM drives the mover in the horizontal direction. Therefore, a model was constructed for analyzing the cylindrical LIM for vertical transfer, and electromagnetic field analyses were performed using the finite-element method. The thickness of the reaction plate was varied, and the effect on the generated thrust was investigated. The optimal thickness of the cable was determined from the results by obtaining the range of the magnetic flux density acting on the cable.</p>

    In the current automobile industry, the demand for ultra-compact mobility as a means of transportation for elderly people and other travelers, has been increasing. The effect of vibration on the ride comfort of these vehicles is significant because of their small size and low weight. The vibration will increase the discomfort perceived by persons in the vehicle. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a vibration control system for safe and comfortable driving. To improve ride comfort, this research group proposed an active seat suspension using a voice coil motor at the seat section of the vehicle.     The authors have proposed to mount a small active seat suspension on the seat as a way to improve ride comfort. In this paper, we investigated quantitative and objective method for evaluation of ride comfort. In addition, participants evaluated the feel of ride comfort in the experiments by a visual analog scale (VAS), and the results were digitized to VAS values which were able to quantitively evaluated the ride comfort. Moreover, the relationship between participants' biological information and their VAS values was modeled by using multiple regression analysis, and an estimation function of the occupants' ride comfort was established from the model. Therefore, the possibility of objective evaluation for subjective ride comfort was investigated using the model.

    <p>  One- or two- seater electric vehicles are categorized as ultra-compact mobility vehicles and, these vehicles have advanced features such as compactness, light body, and low environmental impact. However, the noise input into the vehicles mainly consists of road and wind noise from the tires and wind noise due to using an electric motor as a power source instead of a gasoline engine. To solve the interior sound problem, we focused on a giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) that is small and able to generate a high output, and we propose an active noise control (ANC) system using wall vibration generated by the GMA, thereby achieving a silencing effect. The GMA has mechanical properties such as shafts and springs. We consider these properties to affect the control of sound output through the surface vibration of flat surface in ultra-compact mobility vehicles. Therefore, a GMA must be designed that generate sound control by surface vibration accurately. In this paper, we created an analysis model of the GMA and considered magnetostrictive force and the frequency characteristics of the proposed GMA by electromagnetic field analysis.</p>

    <p>An ultra compact mobility is focused in the view of improvement of transfer for near-distance travel for one to two passengers. This mobility is compact and easy to turnaround, so it can be able to enter narrow roads and bad roads that are not paved. In such a road surface condition, it is susceptible to the influence of vibration caused by steps and unevenness of the road surface, and deterioration of the ride comfort of the vehicle is expected even at low speed running. We have analyzed organoleptic evaluation and biological information to improve the ride comfort based on it proposed a control method. Therefore, in this paper, the stress state of the occupant subjected to vertical vibration is revealed from cerebral blood flow, which is used as an index of central nervous system activity. And we also clarify the psychological characteristics due to vibration using heart rate variability that reflects autonomic nervous activity. Therefore, multiple regression analysis was performed and analysis the prediction formula with subjective evaluation by questionnaire was confirmed using biological information of the participant.</p>

    In recent years, due to environmental problems and aging society, demand for ultra-compact vehicle is increasing. An advantage of ultra-compact vehicle is that they can be used on narrow or rough roads. However, such roads have many steps and irregularities on the ground, and it is expected that ride quality will deteriorate. The authors have proposed mounting a small active seat suspension on the seat as a way to improve ride comfort. The method of evaluation for the psychological state is required to improve ride comfort. In this study, we investigated quantitative and objective method for evaluation of ride comfort. First, ride comfort of participants was evaluated using visual analog scale of subjective evaluation and biological information in exposing experiments. In exposing experiments, an experimental participant was oscillated by 5 Hz sine wave for 3 minutes. Biological information which is heart rate variability was used evaluate the experiments. Second, we selected the biological information for estimating the riding comfort from the correlation between the biological information and the psychological state. Finally, multiple regression analysis was performed using biological information to establish a prediction formula.

    This paper presents new vibration control system using acceleration for ultra-compact mobility. Transportation which can be easily used is required in areas where public transportation is inadequate. Due to solve this issue, ultra-compact mobility is proposed. However, improvement of ride comfort for ultra-compact mobility is required. It is necessary to install small vibration control device to ultra-compact mobility. Therefore, active seat suspension is proposed for improving ride comfort of ultra-compact mobility. The actuator, voice coil motor, is connected seat surface, and control vibration of seat directly. In active seat suspension, accelerometer is used for measuring vibration. In generally, Velocity and displacement is fed back for vibration control. It is necessary to process acceleration signal for calculating velocity and displacement. Control system that fee back acceleration directly is required to improve control performance. In this study, acceleration feedback control system is proposed, and effect of control system is investigated by simulation.

    An ultra compact mobility is focused in the view of improvement of transfer for near-distance travel for one to two passengers. This mobility is compact and easy to turnaround, so it can be able to enter narrow roads and bad roads that are not paved. In such a road surface environment, it is susceptible to the influence of vibration caused by steps and unevenness of the road surface, and deterioration of the ride comfort of the vehicle is expected even at low speed running. The authors have analyzed organoleptic evaluation and biological information to improve the ride comfort based on it proposed a control method. In this paper, the stress state of the occupant received by the vertical vibration is clarified from the cerebral blood flow used as an indicator of the activity of the central nervous system. However, each subject varies in biological information. Therefore, multiple regression analysis was performed and the relationship with subjective evaluation by questionnaire was confirmed using biological information of the subject.

    In resent year, ultra-compact mobility is proposed as new useful mobility. Ride comfort of ultra-compact mobility is deteriorated by vibration because the mobility is lightweight. Therefore, active seat suspension is proposed for improving ride comfort of ultra-compact mobility. However, the seat part of ultra-compact mobility is very small. Thus, small device is required for the ultra-compact mobility. In this paper, we focused winding wire diameter of coil of voice coil motor. Therefore, we investigated characteristic of voice coil motor using electromagnetic field analysis. Moreover, control performance was investigated by simulation of vibration control. As the results, we confirmed high-performance parameters of voice coil motor is changed depending on size of road bumps in case of using optimal control theory for active seat suspension.

    <p>This paper presents new vibration control system considering psychological state of drivers. Low-speed vehicles such as ultra-compact vehicle have problems of ride comfort. In order to improve the ride comfort of ultra-compact mobility, we had proposed active seat suspension to control a vibration of seat section. In addition, it is possible that the vibration is controlled considering psychological state by the active seat suspension. It is necessary to improve the ride comfort by controlling the vibration in consideration of the psychological characteristics of the occupant against the vibration. Therefore, vibration control system using bioinstrumentation was experimentally investigated effects to ride comfort. This system switch ride comfort using psychological state analyzed in constant interval. The electrocardiogram was used to analysis for ride comfort and fed back to control system in this paper. Psychological state of driver was improved by switching ride comfort considering electrocardiogram.</p>

    The active seat suspension is proposed to reduce vibration for passenger in ultra-compact mobility. The active seat suspension is possible to control vibration actively by means of using voice coil motor. The voice coil motor has high thrust performance and simple structure. We had examined the vibration reduction by active seat suspension when entering rough roads and developed a practical control method. Meanwhile, motor characteristics, e.g. motor stroke, thrust variability and voltage capacity, are important factors for reduction of vibration. Especially, the ride comfort of the mobility is affected when fall from the bump. Coil parameters of voice coil motor affect important factors for reduction of vibration. It is necessarily to investigate performance of voice coil motor of each coil parameter. Therefore, in this paper, efficiency of vibration control was investigated by simulation considering voltage capacity and nonlinearity of thrust.

    <p>The active seat suspension is proposed to reduce vibration for passenger in ultra-compact mobility. The active seat suspension is possible to control vibration actively by means of using voice coil motor. The voice coil motor has high thrust performance and simple structure. We had examined the vibration reduction by active seat suspension when entering rough roads and developed a practical control method. Meanwhile, motor characteristics, e.g. motor stroke, thrust variability and voltage capacity, are important factors for reduction of vibration. Especially, the ride comfort of the mobility is affected when fall from the bump. Coil parameters of voice coil motor affect important factors for reduction of vibration. It is necessarily to investigate performance of voice coil motor of each coil parameter. Therefore, in this paper, efficiency of vibration control was investigated by simulation considering voltage capacity and nonlinearity of thrust.</p>

    <p>In recent years, ultra-compact mobility has been used as new transportation in tourist spots and urban areas. This ultra-compact mobility is an electric automobile for 1 or 2 passengers and is currently being sold by several automobile manufacturers. However, due to lightweight, ultra-compact mobility is subject to vibration from road irregularities and road surface steps. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a vibration control system for safe and comfortable driving. We have proposed vibration control device "active seat suspension" to improve ride comfort. We previously studied a vibration control method by active seat suspension using voice coil motor for actuator. it is necessary to grasp the thrust characteristics when the motor is greatly displaced to make comfortable car for occupant. Therefore, in this paper, we use magnetic field analysis the thrust characteristic of the voice coil motor to confirmed. We investigated the thrust decreases when the position is distant from center of stroke. In the future, it is necessary to realize a system that weights variables other than displacement in order to further improve ride comfort. Therefore, it is required to construct a control system that is robust against changes in the thrust constant due to displacement. Furthermore, it is necessary to estimate the input vibration in detail in advance and design a motor that can exert sufficient thrust against the displacement.</p>

    <p>Nowadays, demand for single- and two-seater ultra-compact electric vehicles have been increasing in Japan. Unlike general cars, ultra-compact EVs are able to easily drive on a narrow or unpaved road. Being lightweight, however, it is subject to vibration from road irregularities and road surface steps, and it is necessary to develop a vibration control system for safe and comfortable driving. To improve ride comfort against up-and-down vibration, our research group proposed an active seat suspension using a voice coil motor at the seat section of the vehicle. The active seat suspension directly controls the seat section, which is independent of the vehicle body. Evaluate by focusing on brain communication which is new biometric information t is possible to perform accurate experiment strongly against shearing vibration using a cerebral blood flow meter.</p>
